fall, welcome home!

I used to love, adore, live for summer: the beach, the ocean, the al fresco dinners, vacation. BUT, I then used to live in Tuscany, the Italian Riviera, where everything is at its best (always, just sayin’) in summer. For example overlooking the lake waiting for an open air Madama Butterfly.

NOW I hate summer, the heat, the humidity, the masses aggressively invading the beaches, the hurricanes.

Yes, I have changed continent, and down in the Southern Riviera all is glamorous only in the fall and the winter. 

BUT they are not the regular seasons, there are no foliage, mushrooms, snow, fireplaces, chestnuts. Or, for example, waking up, opening the window to the vineyards ready for harvesting in September.

Yes, Halloween, pumpkins, corn, Thanksgiving all  is very inspiring but in Miami fall looks like this …

That was bad, I know, but seriously, the shoes from Miu Miu’s fall collection were so crazy good that now that the label has released their fall accessories look book, we felt they deserved their own spotlight. These are some fantasy high fashion barbie kicks and even Lauren, who is averse to all thinks glittery, was swayed by how “insanely awesome” they are.

it was one of those days when I really hoped I could be a Homo Abilis, in other words, not being capable of multitasking and having to perform now, right now, no … yesterday. Please, pretty please, can I be a little less than an average human being, to whom you only ask basic questions and don’t expect an answer? Less, a solution.

But then the day evolved into a very hectic evening that concluded with a marvelous conversation on how sexy I could be as a Homo Abilis to the eyes of a caveman. How did I end up being sensual and sexy when I really wanted to be an unappealing average woman with a chicken brain? 

And then I learnt the importance of the Waist and Hip Ratio proportion. Ideal 0.68 and not-so-ideal 1.2 and, more, how the WHR is responsible for maintaining childbirth at high levels. The lower is a woman’s WHR the more chances she has of getting married and have babies. Little lower than average WHR and she’s in the arena of being laid with no marriage in her future.

Hold on: I wanted to have under developed discerning capabilities, and how did I find myself discussing about human breeding?
